Gunther Von Hagens (presenter)

Gunther Von Hagens
Since working as an anatomist at the University of Heidelberg in Germany, Dr Gunther von Hagens has spent the last couple of decades pioneering a technique for preserving body tissue after death. Called plastination, this process essentially works by replacing the fat and water content of body tissue with wax.

By applying the process to the bodies of donors, Dr von Hagens has been able to create a collection of anatomical exhibits of great educational value and aesthetic quality. These have earned him a celebrated reputation as part Dr von Hagen's Body Worlds exhibition which have served to enable

Most recently, Dr von Hagens has taken to exploring the nature of medical emergencies and how injuries work.
