Play Monster Trucks for free
4-wheel hill rally. Or "Monster Trucks Unleashed", to give it its full name, as apparently it's an updating of this slightly clunky original. Though we'll always think of it as a 4x4 version of all those BMX motocross-style games, with extensive customisation options plus an invaluable "jump" facility.
All you have to do is get the truck from the start to the end of the course in less than a minute, ideally without flipping all the way over, falling into quicksand or otherwise wrecking your vehicle. The different courses are so entertainingly designed we can almost forgive its lack of level passwords - though fortunately you can buy spare trucks in the between-level "Upgrade" shopping stage.
Controls: Up arrow to accelerate, down arrow to reverse, left and right arrows to lean back and forwards, Space to jump, Shift to brake, Ctrl to deploy spikes.
Tips: As in many BMX games, it's sometimes easier to convert jumps-gone-wrong into full rolls than to correct them. And we're big fans of getting great big tyres from the "Customize truck" screen.
